Stat Sheet Terms of Use

Effective date: {{EFFECTIVE_DATE}}

The operator is {{ENTITY_NAME}}, {{ENTITY_ADDRESS}}. General and privacy contact: {{PRIVACY_EMAIL}}. Safety reports and moderation appeals: {{SAFETY_EMAIL}}.

Short summary

Eligibility and account access

Only adults 18 or older residing in the United States may use the service. Age and US residence are self-declared, not independently verified. The app asks for an adult attestation, not a birth date; it does not verify residence. An under-18 correction locks product access while leaving Settings export/deletion available. Reports of minor use go to the privacy contact for removal.

Signup availability depends on configuration. Production defaults to closed signups; an invitation list takes precedence over the explicit open-signup setting. These Terms do not claim that the live invitation list is configured. Each person may hold one account. Account credentials and access cannot be sold or transferred. Members are responsible for their account activity and for keeping credentials and email access secure.

Sign-in supports passwords and email links. An optional private name is not shown to other members; a chosen social pseudonym is allowed. Guest Mini-IPIP answers stay in localStorage until an authenticated member explicitly saves them. A save choice at signup applies only to that email. The transfer screen offers Discard; successful saving clears the guest copy. The Privacy Policy explains browser storage, account information and retention.

Product purpose and choices

Assessments, private writing, outside self-reported results, Extras and optional social features support personal exploration. Results do not establish identity, career suitability, medical status or verified test administration. They cannot be used to decide employment, housing, credit, insurance or other eligibility. Outside tests have their own operators, terms and privacy practices; Stat Sheet does not administer or verify them.

Product consent, matching, outside-result community contributions, CAT-Q collection/sharing and optional health-result channel access are distinct choices. The Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy describes where broader health-consent controls are still absent. The Research and retention notice does not activate research: the general switch is disabled and outside research choices only record consent. Future research must be optional, default off and separately consented.

The FAQ is static, identical for everyone and does not use member data. No member data is sent to AI models today. A future AI assistant requires its own opt-in, default off, a policy update and re-consent. Health-adjacent scores, including Neuroticism and CAT-Q, are excluded unless separately consented.

Social features and privacy

Discovery and score-based matching are optional. Both members must enable matching. Peers see chosen profile details, broad tiers and coarse distance labels; exact scores, raw answers and dimension names are not displayed. Health-adjacent scores are excluded from matching. Eligible non-health community results can contribute only with the separate choices described in the Privacy Policy. Eligible personality/values scores can include political-opinion and religion items.

Saved location is rounded to 0.1 degree after a member action, without background tracking. Location and range changes have a 24-hour cooldown. Coarse location, writing and posting patterns can identify someone; a pseudonym or nameless Nearby post does not guarantee anonymity. Recipients may copy content.

Joining or requesting a gated channel reveals to its owner and moderators that the conditions were met, without displaying numeric scores or answers. Optional health-result eligibility can reveal sensitive information. Pausing discovery keeps existing conversations available. Product withdrawal stops further product/social use without deleting previous records. Leave social and account deletion are separate actions.

Community rules, reports and appeals

Harassment, threats, hate, exploitation, sexual content involving minors, pornography, doxxing, stalking, impersonation, scams, spam, illegal content, pirated test materials and restriction evasion are prohibited. Location features cannot be used to track people. Members cannot fabricate messages or ratings attributed to others, misrepresent interests to deceive others or sell access to another person's identity.

In-app reporting covers profiles, posts, replies and messages. Blocks limit interaction and do not themselves count toward another person's timeout. Reports permit authorized operator review of reported content; Nearby private-chat reports can include up to 20 recent messages. The general report queue currently lets operators dismiss reports or lock accounts, and operators can review permanent-lock escalations and unlock accounts. It does not provide a general per-post removal action. Channel authors and channel moderators have a separate message-removal control; it hides the message without erasing its stored body.

Eligible reports and votes can automatically hide Nearby posts/replies and temporarily restrict social actions. Repeated escalation creates a pending human review and another temporary restriction; permanent moderation locks require human confirmation. Reading, reporting, blocking, export and deletion remain subject to ordinary access checks during a timeout. No system guarantees detection or removal of all objectionable content, continuous monitoring or an immediate review deadline.

Appeals of hiding, timeouts or locks go to {{SAFETY_EMAIL}}. Include the account contact, decision and reason for disagreement. A human reviews the available record and communicates the outcome; an appeal does not automatically reverse an action. There is no in-app appeal tracker. Privacy withdrawal is not a moderation offense.

Member content and intellectual property

Members retain ownership of their content and are responsible for having permission to submit it. The operator receives a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, reproduce, transmit, format and display content only to operate, maintain and protect the selected features and their intended audiences. Service providers may process it for those purposes. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for the disclosed backup, legal and recipient-copy limits. It grants no right to sell content, use it for unrelated advertising or train AI models.

Member content expresses its author's views; hosting, filtering or reviewing it is not endorsement or a promise to pre-screen all content. The operator may restrict access and moderate in good faith under these Terms and applicable law. Nothing here expands statutory immunity or removes a responsibility imposed by law.

Questionnaire credits and source terms appear in Sources. Those permissions do not transfer ownership or imply author endorsement. Instrument licensing, attribution and scoring restrictions remain applicable; these Terms do not claim a legal certification of every instrument or norm dataset.

Copyright notices and counter-notices

Send DMCA notices to {{DMCA_AGENT}}. Include a signature, the copyrighted work, the challenged material and its location, contact details, a good-faith statement that the use lacks authorization, and a statement of accuracy and authority under penalty of perjury.

The operator will act expeditiously on valid notices to remove or disable access and notify the submitting member. Counter-notices go to the same agent with a signature, removed material/location, a sworn good-faith statement of mistake or misidentification, name/address/telephone, consent to the appropriate federal district court's jurisdiction and acceptance of service from the claimant. We forward valid counter-notices and restore access in 10–14 business days unless notified of a court action seeking restraint. Repeat infringers' accounts will be terminated in appropriate circumstances. This is an operator-run process, not an automated takedown tool. See the Copyright Office's notice guidance.

Advertising

No ads are shown at launch. Future EthicalAds and Carbon Ads (BuySellAds) placements may be labelled “Sponsored” and selected contextually by general page content and approximate region, never by member identity. They are limited to general pages, never test-taking, results/sheet, outside results, health-adjacent pages, DMs, channel message views or Nearby. Networks may receive ordinary browser request information as detailed in the Privacy Policy; Stat Sheet shares no account, assessment, health, social or saved location records with them. Consumer health data is never sold or used for advertising. First-party personalized ads require a separate default-off opt-in with a button and typed “consent”; no such feature is active today.

Account deletion and termination

Settings provides in-app account export, product withdrawal and deletion. Deletion removes account-owned product records and creates no research copy. Backup/provider copies, restriction codes, feedback with the account link removed, browser storage, recipient copies and older unlinked research can remain as disclosed in the Privacy Policy. Deletion is separate from termination or withdrawal.

The operator may restrict or end access for violations, safety, legal requirements or service closure. Permanent moderation locks require human confirmation. Export/deletion remain available for locked accounts. Repeat-infringer termination and legal takedowns are handled by the operator; these Terms do not imply a universal content-removal dashboard.

Availability, liability and disputes

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, the operator disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Uninterrupted availability, accuracy and particular outcomes are not guaranteed. Features may change or end.

To the extent permitted by law, the operator's total liability arising from the service is limited to the greater of the amount paid to the operator for the service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or US$100. This limit and the warranty disclaimers do not apply where prohibited by law and do not exclude liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Non-waivable consumer rights and remedies remain intact.

The law of {{GOVERNING_STATE}}, the state of the operator's registered address, governs, subject to mandatory protections applicable where a member lives. Disputes may be brought in that state's state or federal courts with jurisdiction, except where mandatory law permits another venue. Either party may use a competent small-claims court. There is no mandatory arbitration and no class-action waiver. Contacting the operator informally is optional and does not suspend legal deadlines.

Apple distribution terms

If obtained through Apple's App Store, the app license is personal, non-transferable and limited to Apple-branded products owned or controlled by the member, subject to Apple's Usage Rules and permitted Family Sharing/volume purchases. These Terms are between the member and the operator, not Apple. The operator is responsible for the app, support, warranties, product claims and intellectual-property claims; Apple has no support obligation. For a failure to meet an applicable warranty, Apple may refund the purchase price and has no further warranty obligation to the extent permitted by law. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries and may enforce these Terms.

Members represent that they are not in a US-embargoed or US-designated terrorist-supporting country or on a US prohibited/restricted-party list, and must comply with applicable third-party terms. Operator contact details appear above. These conditions do not claim App Store approval. See Apple's minimum license terms.

Changes and contact

Material changes will be described before they take effect, with fresh choices for new processing as stated in the Privacy Policy. An unenforceable provision is limited to the extent needed without removing the remaining Terms or mandatory rights. General/rights contact: {{PRIVACY_EMAIL}}. Safety/appeals: {{SAFETY_EMAIL}}.
